New research projects and funding applications in focus
On 20 March 2026, the Advisory Board of the Research Association for Construction Equipment and Plant Engineering met for its session at the VDMA House in Frankfurt am Main. The event was well attended and offered an intensive technical discussion.

A year full of ideas, intense discussions, and new project approaches lies behind us. Even though the conditions have become more challenging, together we are facing the challenges and actively driving forward research and innovation.
Completed projects: Pattern classification
The study focused on the development of an automated pattern classification system for the interpretable evaluation of machine data. It provides comprehensive insights into the recording of typical earthmoving work performed by hydraulic excavators.
Completed projects: RobElKo – Robust Electronic Components
This project describes the method for application-oriented evaluation and classification of loads and the resulting recommendations for the use of robust electronic components for construction machinery.
Save the Date – 7th Industry Seminar on Concrete 3D Printing
On November 7, 2025, TU Dresden will host the 7th Industry Seminar on Concrete 3D Printing – this time as an online event.
Construction Equipment Technology & Research Day 2025
On September 22, 2025, the VDMA in Frankfurt will host a day dedicated to the construction machinery industry and its various topics.
10. Conference - Hybrid and energy-efficient drives for mobile machinery
The focus is on electric, hydraulic and hybrid systems and machines. Discuss practical experience, current solutions and upcoming technology trends in the field of new energy sources and converters.
8. Conference MOBILE MACHINES
The symposium on safety and driver assistance for work machines will cover topics such as norms and standards, driver assistance, driverless systems, data management and tamper-proofing.
FVB Advisory Board Meeting and General Assembly 2024
At its autumn meeting, the Research Association for Construction Equipment and Plant Engineering (FVB) presented new projects and plans to step up its efforts to secure additional funding.
