New research projects and funding applications in focus
On 20 March 2026, the Advisory Board of the Research Association for Construction Equipment and Plant Engineering met for its session at the VDMA House in Frankfurt am Main. The event was well attended and offered an intensive technical discussion.
In addition to formal items on the agenda and the welcoming of new member companies, the main focus was on current research projects and funding applications. Representatives from Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, RWTH Aachen University, KIT and TU Dresden attended the meeting to present their projects to the plenary.
A central element of the session was the pitching of new thematic fields – ranging from robotics on construction sites and sustainable electric construction sites to humanoid systems in construction and hydrogen metal hydride solutions. Participants followed the presented ideas with great interest and discussed them in depth during the discussion rounds and the pitch poster session.
The programme was complemented by presentations on ongoing studies, including one on energy harvesting by TU Dresden and an FVB future study conducted by CF Lab. The Advisory Board meeting once again highlighted the wide-ranging topics and underscored the significant importance of pre competitive research within the FVB.
